Posted on 1 février 2010
After a sucessful launch of the Casa Camper concept in 2005 in a selected dynamic city, Barcelona, the firm behind the confortable, abordable and stylish shoes philosophy is back with a new hotel in Berlin.
Simple and functional design are key words for this new adress, situated in the Mitte area, a central district of Berlin close of cultural equipments such as museums or galleries plus bars, restaurants. Also known for its creative energy, Berlin was chosen by Camper four years ago. An eight floors structure featuring 51 rooms and suites, the project’s design was led by Fernando Amat (Vinçon) and architect Jordi Tio.
Guests can use bikes at their disposal just outside the hotel, The Dos Palillos restaurant which boast itself with a full design by Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec and Albert Raurich (a head chief with 11 years experience at elBulli) behind the kitchen’s oven with assistance provided by former sous chef at the 3 Michelin-Star Vendôme restaurant in Cologne, Bernhard Munding.
Created 30 years ago, Camper, a Majorcan family business, has always teamed up with designers (Hella Jongerius and Jayme Hayon amongst others) and this is the third collaboration with Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec who worked on the brand’s Copenhagen and Paris shops.
